"DAYS OF CREATION"
A FINE ART WORKSHOP
What would it look like if an artist learned how to gain their creative inspiration from the Holy Spirit through scripture? And what if that same artist became capable of sharing the Gospel of Jesus by simply talking about their artwork? In short, the answer to these two questions sums up the goals for a Genesis 1-1 Fine Art “Days of Creation” Workshop.
Artists gather for an all-day or all week workshop and learn how art is actually more about the process than the technique. The process begins with scriptures starting with Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. From there we go on a journey through creation where the imagination is stretched and expanded by the instructor using the Word of God. Much prayer is given to each artist so they can understand God’s creativeness as all of creation was formed. This process continues until artwork is created for each day as it is presented in the bible. During the workshop journey, the artist is also learning how to effectively share this experience with each other and the world. The goal is to hang all the finished art and have the artists host their very own art gallery event. During the gallery event the artist would then share their journey with the public and ultimately share the Gospel of Jesus to receive people into His Kingdom.
The workshop works best when done in a period of 5-6 days. This is so one day can be dedicated creating art for that day of creation. The workshop has been done in so many different environments that it should be adaptable to fit your artists, meaning there’s a lot of flexibility here.
